On Saturday 24
th March we left Perth and headed to
Geraldton, but before we could go to
Geraldton we had some treasure to find!! Our good friends (the Hill family) who are our
back neighbours in Sydney buried us some treasure when they were in Western
Australia last November. We had the GPS coordinates
of where it was buried (as well as a few instructions via SMS).
The kids were very excited, we have known for a while that they had
buried us the treasure so the anticipation was huge.
The treasure was buried at a rest stop on the Brand Hwy and
once we had found the rest stop we set off
following the clues to the treasure.
We paced out the steps, found the spot and started digging. After digging for a while we hit a pile of
shells and then we knew we were in the right place. A bit more digging and we
hit the treasure chest (a biscuit tin) and then we had the mammoth task of getting
into it. The Hill’s had done a great job
of sealing the tin so the contents didn’t get damaged.

Inside the treasure chest we found a note from Pat and
Charlie to Josh, Natalie and Sam and a gift for each of the kids. We phoned the Hill’s to tell them we had
found the treasure and to thank them before we continued on to Geraldton.

Thank you Pat, Charlie, Emma and Nick for our treasure. It was heaps of fun for all of us.
